At Burns Family Farm we absolutely love our animals! Besides the fact that they are adorable; they each have unique personalities. Side note, if you've never seen a chicken running, google it right now. I promise it will make your day.
Currently, we raise rabbits and chickens with no plans of stopping there. It is so important to us that our animals live happy, healthy, cushy lives.
We do raise some of our chickens and rabbits for meat, which is why it is so important to us that they are healthy and happy.
It is extremely important to us that our animals have plenty of space and aren’t fattened-up or given medicinal supplements to make them grow faster. While butcher day is always hard for us, we take pride in the knowledge of where the animals came from and that all of them lived their best lives.
If you’re interested in raising rabbits and/or chickens or adding to your current flock, we do occasionally sell baby chicks, pullets, and rabbits.
Please take a look through our "Around the Farm" page for tips and ideas or feel free to contact us for more information.

Our chickens have a swanky 160 sqft coup with double pens to keep the breeds of chickens separate, but also to ensure that the chickens have more room to spread their wings and run around.
We have a variety of chickens including Barred Rock, New Hampshire Red, Black Copper Marans, Ameraucana, and Olive Eggers. The Black Copper Marans lay the darkest brown eggs, and our Ameraucana lay sky blue eggs. We bred them together to make Olive Eggers which lay Green Eggs! All our eggs are beautiful and delicious.
We believe that the quality of our eggs directly correlates with the quality of life for the chickens. From ensuring that we exceed space requirements to supplementing the chicken feed with scraps from our garden, our chickens are happy and healthy.
We raise and breed Silver Fox Rabbits. These gentle, delightful creatures have stolen our hearts. This breed comes in a variety of colors, Black, Brown, Blue, and Lilac. Named after the actual Silver Fox, all of them have white tips on the end of their fur coat. When we breed our rabbits, we always look forward to seeing which color genes will be represented in the babies.
We give our rabbits lots of space to hop around, as well as a closed-in space to retreat with a solid floor to escape the wire cage bottom or the weather. Our rabbits love it when we have carrots in the garden because we share the tops with them as a treat. It is hilarious to watch them cartoonishly devour the greens like a wood chipper.
